GiveN :

 \mapsto \sf \: z =  \sqrt{2}  + i

To FinD :

 \sf \mapsto \: amplitude \:  =  {?}

SolutioN :

 \sf \: z =  \sqrt{2}  + i

 \implies \sf \:  |z|  =  | \sqrt{2}  + i \: |

 \implies \sf \:  |z|   = \sqrt{ { \sqrt{2} }^{2} +  {1}^{2}  }

 \implies \sf \:  |z|   = \sqrt{3}
