Equation = x² -5x + m = 0
And
a - b = 1 ...(1) [here a and b are zeros]
We know
Sum of roots = -b/a
a + b = 5 ....(2)
Now add ..(1) and ...(2)
2a = 6
a = 3 i.e. one of the zero of this equation.
Put this instead of x in above equation.
We get
(3)² -5(3) + m = 0
9 - 15 + m = 0
m = 6
