As both ABC and BDE are equilateral triangle so triangle ABC is similar to triangle BDE and we know that ratio of are of two similar triangle is directly proportional to the ratio square of their sides

so,

ar(ABC)/ar(BDE) =BC*BC/BD*BD

so ar(ABC) : ar(BDE) = 4 : 1
