3x+4y\12 = 5/12. x+2y = 1
3x+4y= 5
3x+4y = 5
3x+6y. =3
-2y = 2
y = -1
x+2(-1) = 1
x+(-2) = 1
x= 3
x+y =3-1
x+y = 2

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply eq. (i) by 12

3x+4y=5 -(i)

Multiply eq. (ii) by 2

X+2y=2 -(ii)

Multiply eq. (ii) by 3 and subtract

3x+6y=6 - (iii)

3x+4y=5

- - -

__________

2y=1

Y=1/2

From eq 2

X+2y=2

X+2×1/2=2

X+1=2

X=1

Then we have x=1 and y=1/2

So, (x+y)=1+1/2

=2/2+1/2

Therefore, (x+y)=3/2
