Solution:

2 + 2x + 2 = 8

⇒ 2 + 2 + 2x = 8

⇒ 4 + 2x = 8

⇒ 2x = 8 - 4 = 4

⇒ x = 4/2

⇒ x = 2

Answer: x = 2 is the root of the above equation.

Check:

On substituting x with 2 in the LHS of above equation, we get,

2 + 2(2) + 2 = 2 + 4 + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8 = RHS

Answer:

x=1

Step-by-step explanation:

2 + 2(x + 2) = 8 \\ 2 + 2x + 4 = 8 \\ 2x + 6 = 8 \\ 2x = 8 - 6 \\ x =  \frac{2}{2}  \\ x = 1
