(II) A bag contains 6 green balls, some black and red balls. Number of blackballs is as twice as the number of red balls. Probability of getting a green ball is thrice theprobability of getting a red ball. Find

(i) number of black balls.

(ii) total number of balls.​

Answer:

Let , red balls = x

black balls = 2x

Total no.of balls = 6

probability of getting green balls = 6 / (6x+3)

probability of getting red balls = x / (6x+3)

On solving ,

x = 2

then ,

(i) No.of black balls = 2x

= 2(2) = 4

(ii) Total no.of balls = 6 + 3x

= 6 + 3(2)

= 6 + 6 = 12
