different directions on a convex lens held vertically. She was surprised to see that in a particular direction, the beam of light continues to move along the same direction after passing through the lens. State the reason for her observation. Draw a ray diagram to support your answer.

Reason For observation:

1)The girl might have incident the beam of light along the optic centre of lens, where the light passes undeviated, that is it moves in the same direction.

2) a )If white light passes through transparent object with parallel sides it refracts laterally as in case of Glass slab.

b)If White light passes through transparent object with non-parallel side like prism , then dispersion of white light occurs into 7 different colours [ VIBGY
