\bigstar Question:

  • A worker saves Rs 15,000 in a year. How much does he save in 4 months?

\bigstarGiven:

  • In 1 year, the worker saves Rs 15,000.

\bigstarTo find:

  • His savings in 4 months.

\bigstar Solution:

We know that,

1 year = 12 months

Here,

In 12 months, he saves Rs 15,000.

So in 1 month, he will save Rs 15,000/12

And hence in 4 months, he will save

 \frac{15000}{12} \times 4

 =  \frac{15000}{3}

\therefore he will save Rs 5,000 in 4 months.

A worker saves Rs. 15,000 in a year. How much does he save in 4 months?

Now we know that a year has 12 months.

Hence in 12 months, the man sages 15,000 Rupees.

In 4 months, how much would he save?

Cross multiply, we get,

4 x 15,000 = 12 x y.

Assuming that the amount he saves in 4 months is "y" rupees.

Hence bring 12 to the opposite side, you get

 \frac{4 \times 15000}{12} = y

Now, we cancel 4 and 12 and get a denominator of 3.

 \frac{15000}{3} = 5000

Hence the man saves 5000 rupees every month.

Food for thought :-

  • Most of the time, monthly savings are calculated this way in businesses and Home offices. It is important to save money because we can spend it on great things than spend them instantaneously.
