Given :

  • h = 6 cm. [Height of Object]
  • h = 6 cm. [Height of Object]u = - 10 cm [ object distance]
  • h = 6 cm. [Height of Object]u = - 10 cm [ object distance]f = - 5 cm [ ∵ concave mirror]

To Find :

  • Image distance v = ?
  • Image distance v = ?magnification m = ?

From Mirror Formula :

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

↦1/v - 1/10 = - 1/5

↦1/v - 1/10 = - 1/5↦1/v = 1/10 - 1/5 = - 1/10

↦1/v - 1/10 = - 1/5↦1/v = 1/10 - 1/5 = - 1/10↦v = - 10 cm

Image distance = 10 cm in front of mirror

magnification m = - v /u

= - (-10)/(-10)

= - (-10)/(-10) = - 1
