Solution,

Perpendicular bisector means the line which divides a line segment into two equal parts and the line crosses, the line segment perpendicularly with 90°.

To Draw a line segment of 4.5cm AB then to construct a perpendicular bisector, we can follow the steps below:

We can  Draw a line segment of 4.5cm AB using the scale at first,

Then we have to take a compass and then draw arcs at the upper side and the lower side of AB, from point A. The arc length should be greater than the estimated midpoint of the line. Then the similar thing we have to do from point B.

Now we get two points, one on the upper side of AB another on the downside, then the points where two pairs of arcs cross each other. Connect them and label it as CD,

Now CD is a perpendicular bisector of AB .
