ii. It is called a double circulatory system because blood passes through the heart twice per circuit. The right pump sends deoxygenated blood to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated and returns back to the heart.

iii. The left side of your heart

The left side of your heartThe left ventricle of your heart is larger and thicker than the right ventricle. This is because it has to pump the blood further around the body, and against higher pressure, compared with the right ventricle.
