ANSWER

(1) Given:

p(x) =2x + 1

let the polynomial be equal to 0

therefore, 2x + 1 =0

2x = -1

x=-1/2

Hence zero of the polynomial is -1/2

(2) Given: p(x) = (x +1)(x-1)

i. e, x^2 -x +x -1

let the polynomial be qual to 0

therefore, x^2 -1 =0

x^2 = 1

x=√1

i.e,x=1

Hence zero of the polynomial is 1
