- We can assume that Gajanan takes X days to complete the work.
- So as per the information given in the question, Ganesh takes X+10 days to complete the work.
- In one day Gajanan does 1/X part of work and Ganesh does 1/(X+10) part of work.
- Together day does in a day= 1/X+1/(1+X) part =(2X+10)/X(X+10)
- We know that they complete the work in 12 days.
- So in a day they does=1/12 part
- So as per equation, (2X+10)/X(X+10) =1/12
- From them we find value of X=20,-6
- Days can’t be negative number so by elimination -6 we can say X=20
- So Gajanan takes 20 days to complete the work alone.
- So Ganesh takes 20+10=30 days to complete the work alone.
