(ii) {x² + 4y² - 6xy + (x² - y² + 2xy) + (x² - 4xy)} - [-2x² + y² - xy]
= {x² + 4y² - 6xy + x² - y² + 2xy + x² - 4xy} - [-2x² + y² - xy]
= 3x² + 3y² - 8xy - [-2x² + y² - xy]
= 3x² + 3y² - 8xy + 2x² - y² + xy
= 5x² + 2y² - 7xy
(iii) 4x - 9 = 3
4x = 3 + 9
4x = 12
x = 3
