Answer:
1) The reason James Mills periodisation was flawed is due to the fact that you can’t periodise Indian history only on the bases of the religion of the ruler. In a vast country like India there are many different religions coexisting simultaneously so to periodise India on the bases of the rulers religion would imply that the people’s religion have no meaning and that their practices are waste. Also as I previously pointed out that India is a vast country which was not ruled by a single ruler there were different rulers in different parts of India so to periodise a country based on the religion of a single ruler is again implying that other religions and practices are of waste.
2) sorry don’t know the answer to this
3) The reason the British introduced English based learning in India was not for the benefit of the the Indian population but instead for their own benefits. They wanted to make India a second England they wanted to eliminate everything Indian about India. They wanted to train the Indians to teach them their language so that they can eliminate the Indian language too.
4) The British had great belief in the act of writing. They documented everything from decision made to every word they said. This was to improve decisions by being able to look back at everything documented and see where they could make an improvement they also kept copies of these in every administrative institution as they wanted to easily access this information wherever they may be.
5) The reason that photos were invaluable was due to the fact that pictures can’t lie and that you can see the events in front of your eyes. People can lie about things and can change or twist words in documents but in pictures you can see the truth as clear as day and it can be used as an important evidence too.
