Answer:

1.As you can see the effective resistance is 9/2 . because two 9 ohm resistances are in parallel.

so by using ohms law V=IR

we get I = 9/4.5= 2 ampere.

2. for potential diff across 5 ohms it will be (current in the second branch × 5 )

the current in both branches is identical since there are identical resistance in both branch . current in an branch= 1 ampere.

so potential diff across 5 ohm resistance is= 1×5 = 5 volts.
