If ∅ is the angle between A and B the the component of A along B will be A cos∅.

  • The component of A that is perpendicular along B will be A sinФ.
  • The component of A would begin at the same point from where the B vector starts.
  • The direction of the vector can be in the opposite direction or the same direction as that of B, but the magnitude of the component would be A cos∅ along B and the one perpendicular to it would be A sin∅.
