Disaster - A Disaster is an unexpected event or hazard that take place suddenly and causes great loss, destruction and devastation to life and property.

TYPES OF DISASTER

  • Natural Disaster
  • Man Made Disaster

Types of Natural Disaster

  1. Earthquake - An earthquake is sudden shaking of the Eart's surface.
  2. Cyclones - Cyclones that originate over the oceans between 5° and 20° North and South of the equator are known as cyclones.
  3. Flood - Flowing of water or rises beyond its normal place or course.

TYPES OF MAN-MADE DISASTER

  1. LOCAL DISASTER :-These are small -scale disasters such as train accidents, plane crashes etc.
  2. OIL SPILLS :- An oil is the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment.
  3. BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY(BGT) :- The BGT occured due to leakage of methyl isocyanide(MIC) gas.

CONCLUSION

From the above lines we understand that what is disaster. We understand that disaster is an unexpected event or hazard that take place suddenly and causes great loss, destruction and devastation to life and property. We understood that how the disaster effect in the environment. There are mainly two types of disaster-that is natural disaster and man made disaster. Than it again divide into several parts. From disaster it causes great loss devastation to life and property.
