x + y = 7 ...........(1)

2x - 3y = 9 ...........(2)

equation (1) × 2

2x + 2y = 14 ............(3)

Now,

equation (3) - (2)

2x + 2y = 14

- 2x + 3y = -9

0. 5y = 5

y = 5/5 = 1

from eq (1)

x + y = 7

x + 1 = 7

x = 7 - 1 = 6

Hence ,

x = 6

y = 1
