4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator of the fraction be x.

The denominator will be = y = 2x+4

2x+4 = y

2x-y = (-4) ------- (i)

The fraction,

  \frac{x}{y} =  \frac{x}{2x + 4}

New fraction,

   \frac{x - 6}{y - 6}  =  \frac{x}{12x}

12(x-6) = (y-6)

12x-72 = y-6

12x-y = -6+72

12x-y = 66 ------- (ii)

Comparing both equations,

(12x-y) - (2x-y) = 66-(-4)

12x-2x-y+y = 70

10x = 70

x = 7

Fraction by putting values,

 \frac{x}{2x + 4}  =  \frac{7}{2 \times 7 + 4}  =  \frac{7}{18}  \: answer
