Answer:

first, volume of the cuboidal hole= l×b×h

=40*12*16

=7680m²

volume of a plank=5*4*2

=40m²

no.of planks=7680 =192m²

Given : The length ,breadth and height of a cuboidal hole are 40m,12m and 16m  Respectively

To Find :  The number of planks having the height of 5m .the breadth of4m. and the thickness of 2m.,can be kept in that hole

Solution:

Volume of  cuboid box = Length * breadth * height

Cubical hole volume = 40 x 12 x 16  m³

Volume of planks = 5 x 4 x 2    m³

Number of planks =  \dfrac{40 \times 12 \times 16}{5 \times 4 \times 2}

=  8 x  3 x  8

= 24 x 8

= 192

192 planks can be put
