Correct Question:-

A metal plate measuring 32 cm × 12 cm { L = 32 cm & B = 12 cm } is cut up into small squares of side length 4 cm. How many squares will be cut and area of square ?

Given data:-

A metal plate measuring 32 cm × 12 cm { L = 32 cm & B = 12 cm }

—› Length = L = 32 cm

—› Breadth = B = 12 cm

—› Squares of side length 4 cm.

Solution:-

—› Area of metal plate = L × B

—› Area of metal plate = 32 × 12

—› Area of metal plate = 384 cm²

Metal plate cut up into small squares of side hence,

—› Area of square = [side]²

—› Area of square = [4]²

—› Area of square = 16 cm²

—› Quantity of cuted square

= {Area of metal plate}/{Area of square}

—› Quantity of cuted square = 384/16

—› Quantity of cuted square = 24

Hence,24 squares will be cuted from metal plate and area of squares is 16 cm².
