x 2 -2x-143=0

⇒x 2 −13x+11x−143=0

⇒x(x−13)+11(x−13)=0

⇒(x−13)(x+11)=0

∴x=−11,13

Step-by-step explanation:

if your question is this then the answer is

 {x}^{2}  + 2x + 143 =  \\  \alpha \:  and \:  \beta  =  \frac{ - b \:  plus \: or \: mius \:  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac }  \: }{2a}  \\  =   \frac{ - 2 \: plus \: or \: minus \:  \sqrt{ {2}^{2}  - 4(143)} }{2}  \\  =  \frac{ - 2 \: plus \: or \: minus \: 2 \sqrt{142} }{2}   \\  =  - 1 \: plus \: or \: minus \:  \sqrt{142}

alpha is -1 - root 142

Beta is -1+ root 142
