Answer:

x=4   or x=0

Step-by-step explanation:

x²-4x+2=0

now if x²-4x+k=(x-a)²

then x²-4x +k=x²-2ax +a²

comparing x² -4x +k and x²-2ax +a²

thus, -2ax=-4x

-2a=14

2a=4

a=2

k=a²

=2²

=4

thus  x²-4x+4-4+2=0

(x-2)²-2=0

(x-2)²=2

x-2=±2...........(taking square root on both sides)

thus x-2=2    or     x-2=-2

   x=2+2      or x=-2+2

x=4  or x=0
