Ans) Committees are an essential part of the legislative process. Senate committees monitor on-going governmental operations, identify issues suitable for legislative review, gather and evaluate information, and recommend courses of action to the Senate.

2. How was the empire divided for administrative purpose?

Ans)The empire was divided in to a Home Province capital territory or administrative unit under direct control of the central government and four to five outlying provinces (States), each under a Governor or viceroy responsible to the central government.
