Hello:)

Unlike decimal fractions can be changed to like decimals by adding as many zeroes as required.

If other decimals are also changed into equivalent decimals with 3 decimal places, all of them will become like decimals with 3 decimal places.

CONCLUSION:

(i) to find the number of decimal places in the decimal with the largest number of decimal places.

(ii) change the other decimals into their equivalent decimals which have the same number of decimal places as the decimal with the largest number of decimal places.

(a) 0.14, 32.5, 9.3

Here the decimal 0.14 has two decimal places. So convert the other decimals into their equivalent decimals which have two decimals places.

Thus, convert  32.5 into 32.50 and 9.3 into 9.30

Therefore, 0.14, 32.50 and 9.30 are all like decimals with two decimal places.

(b) 1.7, 8.36, 9.755

Here the decimal 9.755 has three decimal places. So convert the other decimals into their equivalent decimals which have two decimals places.

Thus, convert 1.7 into 1.700 and 8.36 into 8.360

Therefore, 1.700, 8.360 and 9.755 are all like decimals with two decimal places.

hope it helps!!
