Insipidus is the answer:
Laxman has a low secretion of ADH which results in an Insipidus type of diabetes.
- When the secretion of ADH (Antidiuretic hormone) is decreased or the decrease in the secretion of Vasopressin in one's body leads to the decreased reabsorption of solutes that is from the distal convoluted tubule of nephrons. Due to this, there is a loss of glucose (sugar), water, and salt ions (which are Ca++, Na+, etc.) from the body.
- All of these instances lead to excessive urination, called polyuria, polydipsia (excessive thirst), and low glucose in the blood. This is called diabetes insipidus.
- Vasopressin or ADH is a hormone generated from the AVP gene that helps in regulating the water in the body.
