1-The study of history is important because it allows one to make more sense of the current world. One can look at past economic and cultural trends and be able to offer reasonable predictions of what will happen next in today's world.

2-Modern period is associated with scientific, rational views.

b. It is assocaited with the spread of ideas related to modernity, with revolutions, with ideas of liberty,  equality, rule of law

c. Modern period is also associated with industrial revolution, with age of discoveries, inventions, technological advancements.

d. It is the period of urbanisation, rapid industralisation, and changes in the social structure.

e. Modern period, historians also associate with British period in India which brought about development in the country.

3-Colonialism refers to the practice of one nation establishing its presence in another. Oftentimes, ths is done by force or by being the first to discover a new nation. Colonialism worked well under this philosophy because through colonizing, the parent nation had an open outlet for all of its goods.
