1) The Industrial Revolution was a time of few government regulations on working conditions and hours. Children often had to work under very dangerous conditions. They lost limbs or fingers working on high powered machinery with little training. They worked in mines with bad ventilation and developed lung diseases.
2) List a few industries where demand for work was seasonal.
1) Gas work and breweries industries needed worker during cold month to meet their demands.
2) In December binders and printers needed labour for binding and printing to fulfil their Christmas demands.
3) Ships were repaired in winter so their was a need of workers at waterfront.
