iii) The coffee beans turned
iv) The negative thinking of the daughter changed into
Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and she didn't know how
she was going to make it. Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed
each on a high fire.
Once the water in the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground
coffee beans in the third pot. He didn't say anything to his daughter. The daughter impatiently waited,
wondering what he was doing. After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes and the
eggs out and placed them in different bowls. He poured the coloured water of coffee in a cup.
"Father, what does this mean?" she asked. He explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each
faced the same adversity-the boiling water. However, each one reacted differently. The hard potatoes were
soft and weak. The fragile eggs were solid and hard. The unique ground coffee beans turned into the colourful
mixture of water with the rich aroma that brought a smile to her face.
He said, "When adversity knocks on your door in life, how you respond is important in life as it is all about leaning,
adopting and converting all the struggles that we experience into something positive attitude."

The passage wants to tell us what attitude we should have towards our problems. There was a girl who was very negative in her life and didn't know how she would tackle her problems.

One day her father took her to the kitchen, and put water in three pots to boil and placed a potato, an egg and a coffee bean in each pot. The daughter couldn't understand what her father wanted to tell through this so she asked him what he wanted to say. After 20 minutes he took them all out and put them in different bowls.

Then he explained her that the hard potato became soft, the fragile egg became tough but the coffee bean turned the water into a colorful solution with a wonderful aroma.

This brought a smile to her face and then she understood that it isn't the adversities that are hard, it is the attitude which we keep makes the adversities even harder.
