Lieutenant Governor is the constitutional head of the 5 union territories out of 8 . he is the ceremonial head of the remaining three union territories named Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, and Puducherry.

Lieutenant Governor is elected by the President of India for the term of five years and holds office under President's contentment.

Functions of the Lieutenant Governor are:
