Bhabar or Bhabhar is a region south of the Lower Himalayas and the Sivalik Hills in Uttarakhand state of India. It is the alluvial apron of sediments washed down from the Sivaliks along the northern edge of the Indo-Gangetic Plain

The Great or the Inner Himalayas or the Himadri, the Middle Himalayas or the Himachal, and the Outer Himalayas or the Shivaliks.

1) The Great or Inner Himalayas: This is the northernmost range and is also known as 'Himadri'. This is the most continuous range. It contains the loftiest peaks.

2) The Middle or Lesser Himalaya: Himalaya in north is classified as the Middle Himalaya, sometimes also called Himachal or Lower Himalaya.

3) The Outer Himalayas are known as the Shivalik ranges. These ranges are youngest of the Himalayan family.
