IITs are centrally funded government institutions. To get into IITs you need to clear JEE Advanced.

Coming to IIITs, there are three types:

a)The ones which are funded by Govt. Of India. This includes:

1. IIIT Allahabad

5. IIITDM Kurnool

b)The ones which are funded both by Govt. Of India and private sectors. This includes:

1. IIIT Chitoor

7. IIIT Trichy

8. IIIT Sonepat

9. IIIT Manipur

All IIITs offer education related to IT fields like Computer Science, Electronics and Communication. IIITM offers IT + MBA dual degree(B.Tech + MBA) programs and IIITDMs offer IT + Mechanical + Engineering Design courses dual degree(B.Tech + M.Tech) as well as bachelors degree. IIIT Hyderabad also offers dual degree programs like B.Tech + MS(by research).

To get into IIITs you need to clear JEE Mains with good rank.

Yes, there are so many differences between the IIT and other engineering colleges. ... You can work for top MNCs with the degree from IIT or other normal engineering college. However, IIT has better professors and campus placements. This is because they pull off a lot of learning in IIT curriculum than normal engineering.
