- indirectly proportional to square of distance of separation.
Calculation:
Let initial force be F
F = {G (m1)(m2)}/R²
Now , distance of separation is doubled , so new distance = 2R
Let me force be F2 .
F2 = {G (m1)(m2)}/(2R)²
=> F2 = ¼ [ G (m1)(m2)/R²]
=> F2 = F/4
So force becomes ¼th pf previous force magnitude.
