Given :  Ilana buys two identically sized cakes for a party. She cuts the chocolate cake into 24 pieces and the vanilla cake into 20 pieces

Martin takes three pieces of chocolate cake and one of vanilla, and Sheena takes one piece of chocolate and two of vanilla.

To Find : Which of them gets more cake

Solution:

Let say Each cake  = 120P

chocolate cake into 24 pieces

=> Each chocolate cake  piece = 120P/24 = 5P

Vanilla cake into 20 pieces

=> Each Vanilla cake  piece = 120P/20 = 6P

Martin takes three pieces of chocolate cake and one of vanilla

= 3 (5P) + 6P

= 21P

Sheena takes one piece of chocolate and two of vanilla

= 5P  + 2(6P)

= 17P

21P > 17P

Martin  get more cake
