Ill effects of tsunami
Answers
What are the after effects of a tsunami? Well, that depends on the size of the tsunami. Turbulent seas. Large waves much like you see in flash floods. After a quake large enough to create a tsunami, the sea level rises. Water over the fault rises and must find it's lowest level again. That process creates waves that can be up to miles long.
As the waves approaches land, depending on the sea floor, they are compressed and rise up and flood the land. Water is heavy. A cubicle meter of water weighs a ton. That's like your washing machine full of water. When that much water hits an object, in less it is very strong or narrow, it will likely be pushed out of the way. As you know if you've ever been in a bath tub, water creates bouancy so objects are lifted.
People are of little consequence in that much water. Go to YouTube and watch to see tsunami striking land. View the tsunami that hit Japan in 2011 and the tsunami that struck Sumatra and Thailand in 2004. A large tsunami striking land creates devastation. Period.
