Illustrate an activity that shows reaction of an acid with metal. Write the chemical reaction involved?

¤ Take about 5 ml of dilute sulphuric acid in a test tube and add a few pieces of zinc granules to it.

¤ You will observe gas Bubbles on the surface of zinc granules.

¤ Pass the gas being evolved through the soap solution.

¤ Bubbles of hydrogen gas are formed in the soap solution.

¤ Take a burning candle near a gas filled bubble and you will observe that bubble will burst with a Pop sound and a brisk effervescence

Following is the chemical reaction involved :--

Zn + H2SO4 -----> ZnSO4 + H2
