Hii dear,

# Reporting of measurements-
Consider a scenario where we measure a particular quantity, reporting of a measurement will be as follows,
x = p ± ∆q
where
x = reported result
p = absolute value
∆q = error

- Properly reporting an experimental result along with its allowable error allows other people to facilitate meaningful comparisons with other similar values or a theoretical prediction.

Hope that was helpful...

To measure any physical quantity, we compare it with a standard (unit) of that quantity. No measurement is perfect as the errors involved in the process cannot be removed completely. Hence inspite of our best efforts, the measured value is always some what different from its actual value (or) the true value.
