It’s not making ‘correct’ decisions but about best possible process for making those decisions.
Features of good governance are :
i) Good governance is accountable :
Accountability is main need of good governance.
Local government has an obligation to report and be answerable for consequences of decisions it has made on behalf of community it represents.
ii) Good governance is transparent :
People should be following and understanding decision-making process.
iii) Good governance is responsive :
Local government will try to serve needs of entire community during balancing competing interests in appropriate and responsive manner.
iv) Good governance is effective and efficient :
Local government should put decisions and follow processes that makes best use of available people, resources to assure best possible results for own community.
