Illustrate the law of conservation of energy by discussing the energy changes which occur when
we draw a pendulum bob to one side and allow it to oscillate. Why does the bob eventually come
to rest? What happens to its energy eventually? Is it a violation of the law of conservation of
energy ?

Answer:

the bob when moves to extremes then it acquires maximum kinetic energy whereas when it goes through centre then it acquires maximum potential energy

Explanation:

this phenomenon keeps on occuring but during this due to resistance of air some amount of heat energy is also released in air due which it stops so it is not violation of the law but just conversion of energy from one form to other

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

➮At the extreme ends the potential energy is maximum when the bob of Pendulum is left from one Extreme end its potential energy get converted into kinetic energy which becomes maximum at the mean position. The continuous to move forward to the other extreme and the process of potential energy starts converting into the potential energy. This process is continuous in conversing energy.

➮No, This is not the violation of law as the bob comes to rest due to friction of air and its support..
