in some societies women's education is not considered as important as men's education.in these societies women's are expected to stay at home.look after children and do the housework.hence girl's are not encourage to go to school.

in India women's education is now being encouraged.however a large percentage of indian women are illiterate.the percentage of litterate women in india is only 53.7 the percentage of literate men in india is 75.3 which is much higher.
