imaginary dialogue between birds and a tree and its fruit...regarding environmental changes.
Answers
Birds: We hardly get any fruit to eat now! Why do these men not leave any fruit for us?
Tree: I miss the days of old time when thousands of birds would perch on me and peck on my fruit. I used to feel so proud hosting the colorful flocks of birds.
Fruit: I am also sad. I am plucked before getting ripe; then greedy, commercial men use chemicals to make me ripe. They spoil my purity and natural taste. I also miss the days of past when the commercialization had not affected mankind so much.
Birds: The bird population is decreasing drastically; even the orchards have been polluted; we can’t survive in the ever increasing pollution of cities and villages. If this continues, soon the colossal life-supporting system will collapse.
Tree: Even my number has been reduced to minimum. Since I am a fruit tree, I have been allowed to live just for commercial purpose. I don’t see any children playing under my shade either.
Fruit: I also miss being plucked by children. I am only plucked to be packed in boxes and transported to fruit markets.
Birds: Let’s hope for the best. Let’s hope things would return to normal.
Tree: Amen!
Bird: Amen!
