Answer:
Trapped in Flood Unexpectedly
Life could be so unpredictable at times! This harsh truth presented itself recently when I along with a group of students was trapped in a sudden flood in Rajasthan. Our group had just enjoyed sightseeing in Jaipur and was travelling towards Ajmer. It was raining on the way and the group was enjoying.
The rain turned into downpour and kept on falling for more than three hours. As we neared Ajmer, we passed by a small town. In order to move ahead, we had to drive through a seasonal river; there was no other option as the road was across the seasonal river in which water was flowing fast. Other vehicles were moving ahead of us. Our bus started moving slowly across the river in which the water level was rising constantly.
With great difficulty we crossed the river but we were trapped in a worse situation. The town ahead was flooded terribly. We could not come back as the river had become quite dangerous by then. Rain kept falling; situation became worst from worse. There was no option but to wait. The driver parked the bus where water was low.
We had to wait there for two days until the situation became normal. NDRF team reached us and provided us food and water. We really had to face the worst of times for those two days. Students had to face so much inconvenience as they could not answer the call of nature in the bus. However, we went through the hell. The students passed their time playing games, singing songs, and cheering one another up. We were so happy when the water level came down and we continued our journey.
