Imagine a place in cosmos far from all gravitational forces and frictional influences.suppose,an astronaut in that place throw a ball.the ball will gradually stop or continue in motion in the same direction at constant speed.Explain?

The main thing is that if there is no gravitational or frictional influence on the ball,then the ball will keep on moving itself.Means it would be in motion.There is not gravitational force on the object,so if there is not force there is no one to stop the ball from being in motion.Yes,if the astronaut wants he may attach a string to the ball.to pull it towards himself/herself.But the main answer is the ball will follow inertia of motion and would keep on going in the same direction at constant speed.
