answer : cations or electropositive ions.

ionisation energy is the amount of energy required to remove an electron from isolated gaseous atom.

if ionisation energy is low, it means atom can easily remove an electron from outmost orbit, means it has tendency to be electropositive in nature.

electron affinity is the amount of energy ejected when we add an electron in any atom in gaseous state. low electron affinity of any atom means low energy ejected when we add an electron in that atom, it is possible when atom is electropositive in nature. because this atom doesn't have tendency to be electronegative.

when we go down the group, size of atom increases and also metallic nature increases. if size of atom is large then, atom must be metallic in nature. and we know, metals have tendency to remove electrons and to be electropositive in nature.
