Answer:

It's the end of the World, as we know it……… and I feel fine.

“Wait, What? Why?”, ‘cause there won’t be any Life, heck there won’t be an “Earth” to begin with!

Don’t worry we’ll get there, but first let me mention few obvious things that will change:

No Braking

No Walking

No Lighting a match

No Sharpening a knife

No Smoothing and polishing

No Flint

No Rubbing your hands to get warmth

No sparks can be generated, hence no Lightning

Nothing stops meteor to burn up when they enter atmosphere, hence we are dead anyway.

Furniture and other un-anchored stuff will not stays where they are kept

Fans, Propeller and Jets will not be of much use as they use friction/viscosity to expel air, water or any other fluid

No surface tension, so fluids flow wherever the hell they want, if gravity allows

Water/Land/Air travel(as we know it today) will not be possible etc. etc.

Now, coming to the exciting part.

But first we need to realize what causes Friction.

You see, friction is nothing but the consequence of the Electro-magnetic force. What happens is the electrons (or should I say electron clouds) don’t want to share same space with each other, we call it Pauli’s exclusion principle (maybe they have a bad past or something).

On the other hand they still wanting to share themselves between 2 or more atoms, because they are highly attracted towards the positively charged nucleus (bunch of Infidels).

This is called Van der Waals force which causes Friction, it is the one responsible for solid to remain solids, liquids to remains liquids and gas to remain gases.

Also the Pauli’s exclusion principle is the only thing allowing you to stand on the floor, sit on the chair or sleep on the bed. Whether you are typing on your computer or scrolling on the touch screen of your smartphone, it is happening because of Pauli’s exclusion principle. Or else you would have passed right through any object, and would sink like a stone, falling through the floor, going towards the centre of the Earth.

Now coming to Earth, this mutual hate of electrons is the only thing stopping them from collapsing into the nucleus and turning into a big chunk of pure Neutrons ( electrons and protons combine themselves to form neutrons).

Which is quite small actually, when compared with Earth:

This is called a Neutron Star ( Blackhole’s lil’ cousin) :

A neutron star is so dense that one teaspoon of its material would have a mass over 5.5×1012 kg (that’s 1100000000000 tonnes per litre!), about 900 times the mass of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

So you see, if we don’t have friction we don’t have life or Earth or Universe as we know it, or as Dave Consiglio will put it :
