Imagine if humans did not have a transport system.
Would we be able to exchange gases and nutrients the same way single-celled organisms do?

Answer:

No, there won't be any possibility for humans to do that.

Explanation:

Humans are multi cellular hot blooded organism and need high energy requirements. The transportation in humans helps carry the food, nutrients and most importantly the oxygen from the heart to blood. If we have no such system, there will be a constant mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. This can't be allowed as the energy that is to be generated is only possible in the presence of oxygen(aerobic).

Single celled organisms are small in size, and do not have a complex structure like humans. They have the process of diffusion occuring which helps for the transport system. Human body is rather complex and tall, where diffusion or translocation (occuring in plants) won't be helpful.

hope this helps!thank you!!
