The world would come to a halt... people would end up living wherever they were at - no more planes and boats and trains and cars.  Pricing for any transportation would be out of reach but for the richest, for a limited time.  We'd have to rely on limited alternate forms of energy, we couldn't even use oil for electricity - we'd be limited to existing supplies of coal, natural gas, and probably minimal wind and water, solar, if we could even run those without electricity.  A lot of jobs would be lost because the companies couldn't run.  Chaos would ensue.  There would be no refrigeration, restaurants would die.  Grocery stores would run out of food, factories would shut down.  People would leave the cities to raid farms in rural areas.  Maybe they would kill each other raiding existing supplies.  Maybe the cities would become ghost towns, empty with hiding creatures.  We wouldn't lose our lifestyle, we would lose the whole world.
