Imagine that one of your friends is taking medication for a mental disorder, but they don't like the side effects of the drug, so they plan on not taking it anymore without telling their parents or doctors. What should you do?

Answer: As a person who takes medication for mental issues I would tell their parents because I would be deeply worried that if they have depression it could get horrible.
