Dear Diary,
i thought i was the mightiest of all in my real life. this thought made me feel so great and important. i wanted to perpetuate my greatness and my achievements. so i had got a colossal statue of mine built and on the pedestal i had got an inscription that announced that i was "the mightiest of the mighty". however , a recent visit to the site gave me the shock of my life-there was no trace of my glory and achievements there !
All my works - forts , inns castles , gardens and what not - had disappeared. even the statue lay in pieces - just a pair of legs on the pedestal and my face, with an expression of sneer and cold -command still intact , lay half sunk in sand.there was no trace of the trunk anywhere . i must admit the sight shook me through and through and made me poignantly aware of the power of time.
How foolish and ludicrous on my part to have sought immortality ! i wish time could give me another opportunity to make amends for my past mistakes . oh,i wish i was humble and loving king with compassion and kindness for all. why did i seek immortality at all knowing that time and death overcome everything in this world?
